Event season is kicking into high gear starting in May! One of the best parts of being located in the heart of downtown is the close proximity to all the great events that happen here, especially down at Yonge-Dundas Square. As April comes to a close, we wanted to keep you in the loop so you don’t miss any of the great things that are happening in Toronto next month. So, here are a few events you shouldn’t be missing.

Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon
If you’re up for a last minute marathon, the Goodlife Fitness run is on May 3rd! You can choose to do the full marathon, a half marathon, a 5K walk, or a 5K run. This marathon has been a staple in Toronto for 35 years and brings thousands and thousands of participants every year. Hopefully the weather warms up a bit before it’s time to hit the pavement. If you’re interested, there’s still time to register!

YouTube FanFest
This year, YouTube FanFest is being held in Toronto for the first time ever. On May 2, Yonge-Dundas Square will filled with your favourite YouTube stars, including Jenna Marbles who is probably the most notable of the bunch. Each entertainer will be taking the stage for a live show, which we’re sure will result in a ton of laughs. Even if you aren’t that into YouTube, the comedy alone is a good reason to check out this event.

Canadian Music Week
CMW is running from May 1st to 10th this year. It’s one of our favourite festivals during the spring season because it celebrates not only talent in Toronto, but in all of Canada. There are shows every night of the festival, including the SiriusXM Indies show and the Fanfest show, which bring in the most popular acts like Lights, Alvvays, and Billy Talent. Any diehard music fans will want to check this out.

Doors Open TO
Doors Open TO is one of our favourite events in the city. Important architectural and heritage buildings all over the city (155 are participating this year) open their doors to Torontonians to come and explore them. Now in its 16th year, Doors Open TO is the largest Doors Open event in Canada, and the third largest in the world. Keep the May 23rd and 24th weekend open!
