Although our development is named for Yonge and College, it could just as easily be called Yonge and Central. That’s because thanks to our location at the heart of Yonge and College, YC Condos is within walking distance to some of the best restaurants, shops, amenities and neighbourhoods in the city. Here are a few things that you could find within a 10 minute walk if you lived at YC Condos in Downtown Toronto.
Groceries (4 minutes)
You can literally make a quick grocery run to Loblaws which is less than five minutes away from YC Condos. Set in the historic Maple Leaf Gardens, the Loblaws at Carleton is the best in the city and it’s a community within itself. The store has a walk-in clinic, a pharmacy, dry-cleaning service, an in-house canteen, Ace Bakery, the LCBO, Joe Fresh and an 18 foot wall of cheese. Talk about convenience!
YC Condos will also have future PATH access to College Park, so you’ll be able to grab your groceries at the Metro in the building without ever having to go outside on those cold winter nights.
The Movies (9 minutes)
Nothing beats watching a movie on the big screen and with the Cineplex so close to home, you might as well get a Scene card and earn some points because you’ll be going to the movies a lot.
If you’re looking for a cinema that’s a little more quaint and old fashioned, then check out Carlton Cinema which is 2 minutes away from YC Condos. On Tuesday’s all shows are $5!
Eaton Centre (9 minutes)
If you need a good dose of retail therapy then your best bet is to head down the street to the Eaton Centre where you’ll find a huge variety of stores to satisfy your inner shopaholic. You can buy clothes, shoes, electronics, housewares and the food court has sufficient variety to satisfy your junk food craving or to keep you honest on your diet. Store favourites include Apple, Lacoste, H&M, Coach, and Indigo, not to mention Saks Fifth Avenue, which is opening a new store at the Eaton Centre this year.
Shopping (13 minutes)
If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, then head north to Yorkville. You can shop till you drop at Holt Renfrew, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and Chanel. If you want great deals without having to empty out your wallet or purse, then you’re sure to find something in one of the underground boutiques at Shops at Aura.
Fine dining (5-10 minutes)
Foodies are going to love living at YC Condos. Yorkville has some of the best fine dining this city has to offer and there’s also a handful of restaurants to choose from in the neighbourhood. Over at the Shops at Aura, you can satisfy your appetite at Scaddabush, Duke’s Refresher or Red’s Midtown Tavern. If you want a quick bite, then you can head down to the food court at College Park Shops or at the Shops at Aura. The Eaton Centre also has thirteen restaurants to choose from and with the Cineplex so close, you might as well make it a night with dinner and a movie.
Coffee (2 minutes)
Getting your caffeine fix will never be easier. There’s a Starbucks right next door to YC Condos, a Second Cup less than a minute away, a Tim Hortons down the street and Timothy’s World Coffee a short 5 minute walk from home. If you don’t mind going a little farther, try Balzac’s at Ryerson or Nespresso Bar in Yorkville.
Bed, Bath and Beyond (4 minutes)
It’s only appropriate that the largest Bed, Bath and Beyond in Canada is in Aura, the tallest residential building in Canada. You’re sure to find all your home needs in this 50,000-square-foot store. Just in case you don’t, you can also try Marshalls which is located on Aura’s third floor.
Ed Mirvish Theatre
Step back in time and watch a live show the way it was meant to be seen. At least that’s the feeling you’ll get when you enter this theatre which was built in the 1920’s. The decor is beautiful with it’s gold trim, grand staircase, sparkly chandeliers and hand carved artwork.
Hospitals (11 minutes)
An apple a day keeps the doctor away but just in case you do need to see one, there are six hospitals within 10 minutes of YC Condos: Women’s College Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital and Sick Kids Hospital. It’s just as good as a house call!
Barbara Ann Scott Park (3 minutes)
This park is the perfect spot for a morning jog, an evening stroll, a summer picnic or just a place to take your dog for a walk. Thanks to its close proximity to YC Condos, it will feel like your very own backyard.
Transit (1 minute)
With so much to see and do within walking distance to YC Condos, you’ll never have to take transit again. But if, for some reason, you do need to venture much further, the College subway station and two bus stops are less than a minute away from home. The city is at your finger tips.
If you work in the downtown core, you’ll also be able to get to work in no time. And thanks to the future PATH connection to YC Condos, you’ll never have to walk to work during snow day!
