This winter has been tough for a lot of us. With the weather dropping to negative double digits on the regular, avoiding the elements has become a sport for many Torontonians. If you live in any one of our College Park buildings though, you’re winning. That’s because Aura Condos and College Park are connected to our underground PATH Network, something YC Condos can also look forward to!
Toronto started building underground pathways in 1900, but City Council got serious about making Toronto’s underground network among the best in the world in 1987 when they adopted the proposal to become the co-ordinating agency of the PATH.
The PATH Network expanded greatly since then, now amounting to 30 kilometres of underground pathways with four million square feet of retail space. It’s connected to 7 subway stations on the Yonge-University Spadina line including Union Station, and you can get to The Four Seasons Centre, Roy Thompson Hall, the Air Canada Centre, and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre without stepping outside. That’s what we call convenience.
The four million square feet of retail space is occupied by over 1,200 shops - from card stores, to places to pick up your evening outfit, to grocery stores and restaurants. The ability to run errands on the way to and from work is a great asset to the 200,000 people that use the PATH for that purpose. Toronto has made it convenient for people living in the downtown core and we’re proud to be extending that convenience to our residents.
